If You’re Waiting On Perfect, You Are Missing Out

Are you sitting and waiting? What has you so hesitant? What would happen if you took that first step? Do you really think you would fall?

It’s hard sometimes, especially when we feel we are not in control. Feelings of failure, disappointment, lack of support, not having everything perfectly in order; these are feelings that creep into our minds and hold us back. The voices in your head are distracting you. I’m not qualified. I’m not good enough. I will only fail. I’m not worth the time or effort. I’m just one person. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.

Fear of failure, it’s huge! Do you believe these emotions were created and placed on our heart by God? No, not at all. These whispers you are hearing, they are not from God. You are allowing darkness to set in, where you should find hope. You can make a decision to overcome, when you rely on God’s power to help you. Replace all your worry, all your doubt, all your concerns with God and put it in his hands.

In Philippians 4: 6-8, Paul tells his brothers and sisters to not be anxious about anything, to pray, give thanksgiving and present their needs to God. By doing so, God will bring you peace as long as what you do is “pure” and “admirable.”

Have you ever tried this? I have many of times. God has answered. It does not mean I became successful or did not experience failure. It means that I was given the strength to pursue, to move, to rely on God to help me. It means that in that moment, in that experience, in that season, I was at peace with the outcome. It means that I did not sit and wait. Doing this would only give you the same results, nothing.

Today, I invite you to put away your fears. To find some silent time to pray to God and petition him to help guide you and protect you. To bring you strength and peace and to lead you to do admirable and pure things as He has shown you.

May God bless you and keep you safe. May God protect you and be with you always.

Amen
