A Simple Act Of Kindness Making A Large Impact
To see children walking in their faith, following Christ is true testimony that God is among us. There is so much joy that comes from witnessing our youth creating holy moments.
You see this child. She is writing prayers, scripture and words of encouragement on lunch plates that are distributed in her local community weekly to the homeless, homebound and the poor.
While there is definitely a “holy moment” occurring in this community by being able to distribute over 170 meals on Fridays to people in need, there are also other “holy moments” occurring through this Feed My Sheep ministry. You see, volunteers come together ever Friday to cook, package and deliver these meals. All of these volunteers are creating “holy moments.” They are making choices to do good for others through simple acts.
This began when one of the volunteers came in and started writing prayers on the plates. When the other volunteers saw the plates had prayers on them, they wanted to continue this kind act. You see, one small action, created a larger reaction. The simple act of doing this one time, brought others together to continue the “holy moment” and to share God’s word.
Imagine having a rough day or being discouraged and receiving a hand-written prayer or note of encouragement through scripture. This one small action, such as a mustard seed, could have a tremendous impact in the life of another. Remember, the small acts are just as important and they don’t have to be perfect to have a great impact!
